What is FolderWatch?
Simply, FolderWatch is a program that makes automatic backups.
Automatic backup? How does it work?
It's really simple. You just have to select a folder that you wish to be monitored (backed up), decide whether you prefer all files or just some files to be copied, select where the copies should be placed and - that s it. FolderWatch will do the rest. It will wait until existing file is changed or new file is added and copy it to selected destination.
How many folders can I monitor with FolderWatch?
Number of Watches (monitored folders) is limited to 8192. However, programs response time will be slower with large number of Watches. Up to version 1.20, maximum number of Watches in evaluation (trial) version was 3 Watches. This limit is removed in version 1.30.
Can I monitor a folder and all of its subfolders?
You cannot have one Watch that monitors a folder and all of its subfolders. However, there is a command "Add multiple Watches" that is used to create Watches for some or all subfolders of a selected folder. You should also read the answer to the next question.
I would like to monitor subfolder of a folder that I'm monitoring now. How?
Since version 1.30, it is possible to monitor subfolders of a folder already monitored. To use this feature, open Properties dialog of a Watch, display Advanced tab and check 'Create new Watch for new folders created in the source folder' check box. With this feature enabled, new Watch will be created for new folders created in the source folder. Destination folder of newly created Watch will be a subfolder of a destination folder with the same name as new folder.
